Resume
In-depth study of the professional structure of the national labor market is conducted in the article. The methodological approaches to the estimation of professional asymmetry of the labor market are offered. They include three main stages of the research – information-preparatory, calculation and  analytical ones. The boundaries of the level of symmetry and asymmetry of the labor market have been determined. The depth of asymmetry of the Ukrainian labor market has been estimated based on the use of official statistics and key job search portals. The main global and national prerequisites for the asymmetry of the professional structure of the Ukrainian labor market are revealed. The risks and chances of asymmetry in the country’s labor market are outlined.
